Our Care for You

We delight in caring for expectant mothers as they go through pregnancy. We desire to facilitate the health and well-being of the mother and child through counsel, education, and professional care.

Prenatal Care

Your journey with us begins with a thorough first visit. We’ll go over your health history, do some lab work, review your overall wellness, set nutritional goals, and of course, complete a prenatal exam! Just as importantly, we’ll spend time talking about you—your hopes for this pregnancy and birth, and your past experiences that shape the way you want to be cared for now.

Our prenatal visits are never rushed. Each one is designed to give you the space to ask questions, share concerns, and make confident decisions about your care. We’ll cover whatever is most important to you at the time—whether that’s emotional well-being, nutrition, exercise, fetal development, or getting ready for birth and the postpartum season.

Prenatal care includes:

  • Initial lab work (and additional labs, as required).

  • Monitoring your health, vital signs, uterine growth, baby’s position, and heartbeat.

  • Support with nutrition and wellness goals.

  • Education on birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

  • A home visit around 36–37 weeks to prepare your space for birth.

  • 24/7 phone support for urgent needs.

Birth

When it’s time to welcome your baby into the world, your midwifery team will be with you from active labor through the precious hours after birth, making sure everyone is safe, stable, and comfortable. All the time spent together during prenatal visits—crafting your birth plan, preparing for labor, and building trust—comes together in care that’s uniquely tailored to you.

Some families appreciate lots of hands-on support, while others prefer the unobtrusive presence of their midwife, alert to their needs and checking in intermittently, to be all the support they need. However you labor best, you’ll always have skilled, attentive care. Throughout, our role remains the same: keeping a close eye on your well-being, your baby’s well-being, labor progress, and postpartum recovery.

Water Birth

Laboring or birthing in water is a beautiful option you may want to explore. Some families choose a birth tub just for labor comfort, while others welcome their baby into the water. Many women find water immersion helps them feel more relaxed and mobile, eases contractions, and creates a private, calming space. These benefits often help labor flow more smoothly. For babies, waterbirth is a safe, gentle transition—they move from the warm waters of the womb into the warm waters of the birth pool, and take their first breath as they’re lifted into their parents’ arms.

Postpartum Care

Welcoming a baby is a tender, transformative time. Our in-home postpartum visits are designed to bring comfort, reassurance, and ease. You’ll also have round-the-clock phone and text support, so you never feel alone in those early weeks.

We encourage mothers to rest and honor the healing process, drawing from both traditional wisdom and modern knowledge. Taking the time your body needs makes recovery smoother and breastfeeding more successful.

Postpartum and newborn care continues for six weeks, with visits that support your healing, your baby’s growth, and your emotional well-being. We’ll check in on breastfeeding, your recovery, and newborn milestones, while making sure your questions are answered and you feel supported. On-call support is available to you the entire six weeks.

Newborn and postpartum care includes:

  • Home visits in the first two weeks

  • Support for your physical recovery

  • Newborn weight checks

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Newborn Metabolic, Hearing, and Critical Congenital Heart Defect Screenings

  • Birth certificate filing

  • Family planning education

  • PAP test (if desired)
